Albert Chan, M.D., M.S.

Vice President, Chief of Digital Patient Experience
Sutter Health

Albert Chan, M.D., M.S. serves as Vice President, Chief of Digital Patient Experience for Sutter Health, where he is the responsible for developing a healthcare strategy that delights diverse patient population and their families with start-of-the-art digital health experiences, and operationalizing seamless integration into clinical workflows to improve health outcomes.  Albert also provides clinical leadership for the rapid development, testing and scaling of conceptual prototypes and Sutter Health’s proposed and signed technology investments. Previously, Dr. Chan was Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation.  He is widely recognized for his innovative contributions to patients and his physician colleagues and was most recently honored with the inaugural Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group Innovation Award. Dr. Chan also serves on a number of advising roles in corporate and community settings. He holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and a medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine.

Lisa M. Grisim, RN, MSN

VP and Associate CIO
Stanford Children’s Health

Lisa is the Associate Chief Information Officer for Stanford Children’s Health. Most recently, Lisa's leadership style, passion for innovation and expertise in EMR implementations has resulted in Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford & Stanford Children's Health attaining the prestigious HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 of the EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM) - currently only 4% of hospitals and 10% of ambulatory practices have reached this level.  Prior to this, she has held positions as Project Manager for the implementation of the adult hospital's first EMR which went live in 2001 followed by Project Director for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford first EMR implementation.  She continued as Director of Applications and the Director of the PMO followed by Clinical Project Director for the Epic implementation, which replaced Stanford’s legacy EMRs in both in-patient and ambulatory in the summer of 2014. Lisa began her IT career in 1996 after moving up the nursing ranks as a nurse educator and manager.  She earned her BSN at University of San Francisco and her MSN at UCSF.

Ernie Hood, MBA

Ernie Hood’s 20+ years of health care experience informs his research and conversations with CxOs. As Vice President and CIO at Group Health Cooperative, he successfully deployed

electronic health records, patient portals, and business intelligence solutions, and helped the organization to achieve record growth, margin and customer satisfaction resulting in 3 JD Powers Awards. He also has extensive experience with such diverse topics as governance, strategy, mergers, acquisitions, alliances, security, and applying Lean process improvement to IT. Ernie has served on the University of Washington Information School Advisory Board and on the board of HIMSS Washington. He is a graduate of the University of California and received an MBA from the University of Houston.

Pamela Hudson, RN

Chief Operating Officer
Center for Digital Health Innovation at UCSF

Pam is the Chief Operating Officer for the Center for Digital Health Innovation (CDHI) at UCSF. She is responsible for managing all CDHI operations, deliverables, assets and partnerships. Pam brings 30 years of health information technology, consulting and operations experience . Prior to joining CDHI, Pam led large IT enabled programs for Kaiser Permanente, the National Health System in London and most recently for the UCSF Medical Center. She led UCSF's Epic implementation and was responsible for the opening of the UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay. She led the introduction of new technologies, such as, Voalte, OneView and robotic TUGS with a focus on enhancing the delivery of care to patients. Pam began her healthcare career at Stanford Medical Center as a pediatric/neo-natal intensive care nurse.

Ed Kopetsky

Mr. Kopetsky is an experienced healthcare executive with expertise in integrated  delivery systems, information technology planning and implementation, operations process and cost improvement, and consulting. Prior to joining the hospital in 2009, Ed was a  Partner at IBM Global Business Services and Executive Vice President with Healthlink, a consulting firm specialized in healthcare IT and process improvement (Healthlink was acquired by IBM in 2005). Ed previously served as Senior Vice President and CIO at Centura Health, and Sharp HealthCare. He has contributed nationally and locally to numerous professional organizations, including serving as Board Chair   for the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and the Microsoft Healthcare Users Group.

Vi Shaffer

Research Vice President
Gartner

Vi Shaffer is Research Vice President - Healthcare for Gartner. As such, she advises healthcare executives around the world in the areas of business imperatives, strategic planning, IT governance, organization structure/roles, and digital healthcare directions. She is internationally respected for her long-standing study of CIO-level issues, the role of the Chief Medical Informatics Office,  and the CIO-CMIO relationship. Based in Washington, D.C., she actively monitors US federal healthcare reform, Accountable Care and Pay for Performance initiatives.

Ms. Shaffer is a well-known 40+-year industry veteran, having played executive, consulting and senior strategist roles in business, IT and healthcare. She is frequent speaker and author on the fusion of healthcare and technology. She has served as guest faculty in the executive programs at the Harvard School of Public Health and the George Washington University, at leadership seminars sponsored by HIMSS and College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). Recent international speaking engagements include Arab Health, the Private Hospitals Association of Malaysia, and the HIMSS AsiaPac and Greater China conferences.

Greg Walton

Chief Information Officer
El Camino Hospital

Greg Walton has spent his entire career in health information technology. Presently he is serving with El Camino Hospital in Mountain View California as their Chief Technology Officer. Prior to his role as CTO Greg held was the Chief Information Officer for El Camino. As CTO he is focusing his time on Tele-Health and emerging technologies.

Greg’s career includes working for an international HealthCare software company, a “Big 6” Consulting partnership and as CIO for one of America’s top Integrated Delivery Systems. 

Over his career Greg has been a HIMSS member and has served as the Board Chair. He was recognized in 2004 with the HIMSS Health Care Leadership award and in 2005 by HIMSS and CHIME with the CIO of the Year award. Greg is presently the President of the Board for Pathways Home Health & Hospice and also serves on the Board of Momentum for Mental Health.  Greg was recently recognized as the Silicon Valley 2016 CIO Community Champion CIO.

 

Mark Zielazinski

Mark Zielazinski joined Marin General Hospital in September 2012. Before joining our team, Zielazinski was Chief Information Officer at Alameda County Medical Center, where his responsibilities included information systems, telecommunications, health information management, and biomedical engineering. From 2001 to 2006, he was the Chief Information Officer at El Camino Hospital. He is a graduate of Illinois State University, and currently lives in Novato.
