Precision medicine holds great promise but has not yet demonstrated undisputed evidence of improved outcomes across a broad range of specialties and circumstances. Laboratory medicine is a core element of precision medicine and ripe for improvement of patient and clinician experience. Laboratory reports were traditionally dense with lengthy medical and legal language. Given the limited number of trained professionals with expertise in molecular genetics, clinicians may avoid acting on lab results or even risk misinterpreting them. Given the explosion of genomic data and testing, laboratories have moved to find solutions through technology. Examples include interactive, user-friendly reports for patients, telehealth applications, and tools to help physicians integrate test results into actionable care plans.

Ashish Kheterpal

PACT Pharma.

Ashish Kheterpal is Chief Information Officer at Pact Pharma, a cell therapy company. Ashish has over 25 years of experience in technology operations, and strategy leadership roles within Life Sciences, high tech, and financial services companies. Prior to joining PACT, Ashish was the CIO at Veracyte, a genomics diagnostic company offering proprietary, precision medicine tools to guide surgical decisions and treatment.  At Vercyte, Ashish has led IT initiatives like the creation of predictive analytics platforms, physician connectivity solutions across web and mobile platforms, and cloud-based pipelines for next-generation sequencing data. Ashish has held numerous IT leadership roles in the diagnostics field at organizations like Celera, CareDx, and Incyte Genomics. He has a Master's in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University in India. .

Meena Ramachandran

Vice President of Product and User Experience
Myriad Genetics

Meena Ramachandran is the Vice President of Product and User Experience at Myriad Genetics. She leads the team that defines and designs all of Myriad’s customer-facing workflow solutions that make convenient access to genetic testing a routine part of clinical care. She previously led digital product teams at Counsyl and Castlight Health. Meena started her career in medical devices, working on early generations of bioresorbable stents and interstitial glucose sensors. She holds a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford, and an MBA and Masters in Public Health from UC Berkeley.

Pouria Senae

ixLayer, Inc.

Pouria Sanae is the CEO and founder of ixlayer, a precision health testing platform. Previously served as Director of Product Management at Yahoo, Flickr and Helix. He comes from an extensive startup background, as a founder of two companies in artificial intelligence and data analytics. Over his entire career, he has lead the efforts of launching over 30 genetic products and consumer health tests.

Liz Kearney

Liz Kearney, MS, CGC, MBA is a thought leader in genetic service delivery and founder of Mainstream Genomics, LLC, a software company empowering women to take control of their reproductive screening plans. Liz has held clinical and commercial roles at organizations such as Kaiser Permanente, Johnson & Johnson, Veracyte, and PWNHealth and is a past President of the National Society of Genetic Counselors. She speaks regional and nationally about technology innovation in genetics. Liz has a Master of Science in Human Genetics from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management.
