ePatient 2021 - Doctor's Orders: How Telehealth is Affecting Clinicians

The pandemic accelerated the transition to telehealth. Clinicians had little time to prepare themselves or their patients. This panel discussion will explore how telehealth is affecting clinicians, where the gaps are, and what opportunities there are for technology to better support clinicians.

Jeffery Wajda, DO, MS, FACEP

Chief Medical Information Officer
UC Davis Health

Jeffery Wajda is the chief medical information officer for UC Davis Medical Center, the first physician to formally have that title. Wajda is responsible for the coordination, management and direction of the clinical information system within the hospital and clinics, and helps oversee maintenance of state-of-the-art electronic medical records that are clinician-friendly and thoughtfully configured. Wajda works closely with the chief medical officer and the chief information officer to oversee physician use and training with the EMR, as well as data governance to ensure patient safety and clinical quality, and to improve teaching and research.


Aileen Murphy, DO, MA, FACS

General and Bariatric Surgeon, Epic Care
Hospital affiliation with San Ramon Regional Medical Center and John Muir Health

Aileen is a General and Bariatric Surgeon in Northern California with an affinity for technology that enhances clinical workflow.  Her goals are to improve the proficiency and efficiency of EMR use by physicians and staff in both the clinic and the hospital setting, as well as utilize technology platforms to streamline manual workflows.  She seeks to constantly learn about progressive software and how it can lead to the betterment of clinical medicine in everyday life.


Maryam Amidi, DDS

Amidi Family and Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr. Amidi grew up in Los Gatos and graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in chemistry. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 2003 and has been practicing in Mountain View since 2006. Dr. Amidi has completed numerous continuing education courses in all aspects of dentistry and has completed a mini-residency in oral surgery. She lives in Los Altos Hills with her husband and 6-year-old daughter.  In her freetime she enjoys hiking, swimming and playing tennis.  She is part of the board of directors for Mid-peninsula dental society and a member of ADA, CDA and Santa Clara dental society. 


Midori Kondo, PharmD, MHA  (Moderator)

VP Administration, HIMSS Southern California Chapter

Midori Kondo is a healthcare executive and IT professional with extensive experience in transforming provider organizations into enterprise healthcare systems to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care using game changing technology solutions.  She is currently the CEO of InnovaShare and the Vice President of Administration/ Executive Board Member of Southern California HIMSS.
