ePatient 2021 - Remote Patient Monitoring - Improving Patient Outcomes and Reducing Costs with a Connected Care Ecosystem

The use of RPM and telehealth platforms, creates a myriad of issues in the current landscape including selection of the right tools, integrations, and payment/reimbursement. Using a case study, the panel will examine how doctors use RPM, holistic platforms, and technology to improve patient care and outcomes. Examination of the case study will inform a discussion of how to navigate those and other issues to come to a holistic workflow from integration through reimbursement options and hurdles.

The panel includes experts from the medical field, policy, and health tech companies with experience in medical devices and connected care platforms.

David Gray

Senior Manager, Government Relations & Connected Health Policy

David Gray is the Senior Manager, Government Relations & Connected Health Policy at HIMSS, where he leads their Congressional advocacy and education efforts, and connected health policy development. In this role, he provides legislative and regulatory analysis on a number of public policy issues, including connected health, cybersecurity, appropriations, and health IT regulation, and oversees strategic relationship development initiatives.


Anobel Y. Odisho, MD, MPH

Assistant Professor of Urology, Clinical Informatics Lead
Center for Digital Health Innovation

Dr. Odisho is a urologic surgeon focusing in urologic oncology. His research centers on clinical informatics and the development, implementation, and evaluation of digital health programs that extend asynchronous, automated patient care. He has developed an integrated clinical trial screening platform for oncology patients and oversees the development of the Urologic Outcomes Data Warehouse. At the Center for Digital Health Innovation, he leads the Virtual Care Programs. He has launched virtual care programs for patients undergoing prostate biopsy, lung transplant patient home spirometry remote monitoring, IBD symptom assessment and medication management, and COVID symptom self-triage. He has also published on health equity and trends in telehealth utilization.

Meredith Sossman has more than 20 years of experience in health care device legal defense, FDA regulatory consulting for early stage medical device and pharmaceutical companies, and international legal experience in health-related risk management. Meredith holds a telehealth facilitator certification from Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.  She is the Global VP of Business Development and General Counsel for Suquino.
