Fall 2016 Newsletter ♦ Message from the President

Hello HIMSS Chapter Members,

Welcome to the first edition of the Northern California HIMSS Chapter Newsletter for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. We have a newly assembled Board of Directors and volunteers that have been hard at work this summer planning and organizing phenomenal educational programs and networking events for our members. We have taken valuable feedback from our membership survey to cater our programs to meet the needs of this very large and diverse chapter, and have tailored our offerings accordingly. We understand that time and money is precious, and that many of you belong to more than just our local HIMSS Chapter. We believe that it is our obligation to ensure you are getting the value you deserve, so that you continue to participate with us.

That being said, all of the programs organized by the NorCal HIMSS Chapter do not happen overnight. There is a tremendous amount of behind the scenes work that goes into every event, large or small. I am honored to be representing a distinguished Board of Directors, which is comprised of a diverse, dynamic and dedicated group of healthcare IT professionals that make this Chapter what it is. They continue to amaze with the time and amount of effort they commit to this Chapter to bring the very best of healthcare to the Bay Area. If you attended our 10th Annual Summer Social at Rosenblum Wine Cellars, I hope you had the opportunity to meet some of them. If you are interested in joining this amazing Board, please consider volunteering on one of our events or standing committees. We could always use another set of hands!

I welcome you to visit our website at www.norcalhimsschapter.org to get a complete list of our upcoming events, as well as opportunities for volunteering and sponsorship. As always, it is my pleasure to serve as your Northern California Chapter President this year, and welcome any and all feedback you may have.

Best Regards,

Stevie Bahu
