Fall 2017 Newsletter - Announcing the HIMSS NorCal Clinical Advisory Council

By Margit Chapman, RN, CAC Chair

To bolster its ability to address market needs and enhance HIMSS NorCal’s value to physicians and clinicians, we have established the HIMSS NorCal Clinical Advisory Council (CAC). The CAC will be comprised of 10-12 representative Physicians, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists, and experienced leaders in designing clinical solutions who will contribute industry insights, fresh perspectives, and learned counsel to HIMSS NorCal’s leadership team. We will benefit from the inputs and recommendations offered by the CAC as it relates to our educational events, subject matter expertise, and organizational positioning.

Participants on the CAC will be comprised of both HIMSS NorCal members and committee members within Northern California. The CAC will consider the needs and interests across the healthcare IT industry, including but not limited to Physician Practices, clinics, Hospitals, Long-Term Care Facilities, EHR vendors, patient engagement solutions and other components of the healthcare continuum. Key area of focus in 2017-2018 will be on the expressed interests by HIMSS NorCal Organizational Associates (OA) and general membership.

The primary goals of the Council are as follows:

  • Review and advise on HIMSS NorCal events and education plans, program content, speaker credentials, to provide recommendations for improvements to meet market needs
  • Identify market trends and educational needs of the marketplace from an OA perspective
  • Contribute ideas and intelligence that support the attainment of excellence in NorCal HIMSS presence and value

We are very excited for the CAC and look forward to what it will bring to the Chapter.
