Spring 2017 ♦ CPHIMS Review Courses

By Cathy Coleman, Course Coordinator, Education Committee

Experienced professionals in HIT, clinical care and management are eligible for the national CPHIMS certification exam, which has been very popular for HIMSS members and non-members who want to advance their careers and validate their knowledge, skills and abilities through this special recognition (http://www.himss.org/health-it-certification/eligibility).

The Northern CA chapter of HIMSS will be offering two separate daylong review courses for interested participants throughout Northern California. Graduates of the courses who passed the CPHIMS certification exam last year have initiated interest in co-hosting these events with our chapter and collaborating to network and recruit interdisciplinary colleagues across the continuum of care delivery.

These are our upcoming CPHIMS Review Courses:

  • Friday, May 5 at the Pleasanton campus of the University of San Francisco
  • Saturday, May 6 at location TBD in collaboration with the Department of Health Services

Once again, with financial support from the Northern California HIMSS chapter leadership, several scholarships will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for both courses and the follow up CPHIMS certification examination.

Currently, complete program details are in progress; interested attendees may visit the HIMSS website (http://www.himss.org/health-it-certification/cphims/handbook) for more information and/or send an email to course coordinator, Cathy Coleman at cathycoleman@msn.com who will send program details once finalized.
