Summer 2018 Newsletter - End of the Year Recap

By Nick Steinbach, President, HIMSS NorCal Chapter

As your President, I would like to take this opportunity thank our membership base for their support. What a year we have had! With the summer season upon us and the finish of our 2017/2018 program year -- this is a great time for reflection and planning.

We wrapped up the year with an incredibly engaging annual ePatient Summit at UCSF Mission Bay, visiting our legislators at the Capitol for HIT Advocacy Day, and celebrating this year at our end of the year social at Rosenblum Winery in Jack London Square. I encourage you to read about their highlights in the articles below!

In planning for the upcoming year, it is important for us to regroup, reflect, and reset. At this year’s Board retreat, we focused on outlining our strategy for the Chapter as well as our programs for next year. We continue to hold ourselves to our commitment to keep delivering high quality educational events for our members. We have been documenting the feedback we have received across all of our events this year to help us improve. Our Board has been hard at work pulling everything together, and this retreat was one of the best ways to realign our efforts and chart a new course for the coming year. Our new board appointees and committee chairs officially assumed their roles on July 1.

It is not too late to get involved in our chapter so please reach out to to learn more, or visit our website for additional information.

I am grateful for the opportunity to lead our chapter this year, and I look forward to continuing our legacy as one of the top HIMSS Chapters in the country!
